Tyne Theatre & Opera House has bar facilities on each level selling a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as a range of confectionary. We do not serve hot food at the Theatre, but can recommend places to stay, eat or drink on the Nearby page on our website.
The Tyne Theatre and Opera House is a city centre venue less than 5 minutes from Central Station. Visit our Nearby page to see recommended pubs/bars, restaurants & hotels close to the venue.
We have no cloakroom facility, so if possible please do not bring unnecessary large personal items such as rucksacks or luggage. Please be aware that for the safety and comfort of our customers, we do perform bag searches.
We have a buggy park at the back of the auditorium Stalls level, however space is limited so we ask that where possible, you leave your buggy at home.
We do have booster seats but they are limited – please ask a member of staff upon arrival. It’s also perfectly acceptable if you want to keep your child on your knee as long as they’re not obstructing the view for people behind you.
Tyne Theatre & Opera House stalls are fully accessible for wheelchair and mobile aid users with ramps in foyer/box office entrance and to Bistro Bar. Wheelchair user spaces are limited to four per show and are bookable directly with our box office team. Due to the age of the theatre we do not have a lift to higher levels.
There is an accessible toilet at the back of the Stalls, there are other toilet facilities on all levels.
To find out more about accessibility at the Theatre and how to make an accessibility booking, please see our accessibility FAQs here.
We have various areas within the Theatre that can be used for private hospitality during shows. Please visit the Hire Us page for details.
