A highly experienced music teacher, conductor, pianist and trombonist, Sarah brings a wealth of musical theatre and performance experience to the role. She is currently a Teacher of Music at the Royal Grammar School Newcastle, where she has led numerous acclaimed productions, including Hadestown, Six, Anastasia, Chicago and Shrek.

Alongside her extensive work in music education, Sarah performs with local ensembles and musical theatre societies and has worked as a freelance pianist, trombonist and Assistant Musical Director. She has also led and accompanied choirs, bands and music groups across the region.

Sarah said:

“I’m absolutely delighted to be taking on the role of Band Leader for the Tyne Theatre Show Band. The theatre has such a rich musical heritage, and I’m excited to bring musicians together to create a vibrant, ambitious and welcoming new ensemble.”

“This appointment marks another exciting development in the theatre’s growing community programme. Sarah’s combination of musical expertise, conducting experience and passion for inclusive music-making makes her ideally placed to shape the sound and spirit of this exciting new group.”

The Tyne Theatre Show Band will provide musicians with opportunities to rehearse, perform and collaborate as part of the theatre’s wider programme, celebrating musical theatre, jazz and big band repertoire.
