TYNE THEATRE PRODUCTIONS ARTISTIC TEAM ROLES – APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

Following the announcement of Tyne Theatre Productions’ 2027 amateur dramatic production of Annie, Tyne Theatre & Opera House is happy to announce the launch of its search for the Artistic Team for 2026-27.

Roles available are Director, Musical Director and Choreographer. You’ll find key information for each role below, along with a link to download the full job description alongside each role. Further information about pencilled dates and how to apply can be found at the bottom of this page.

We offer this role as a stepping-stone to industry entry for young/new creatives. You do not need to have directed previously.

 

Tyne Theatre Productions – Director

Job Title: Tyne Theatre Productions – Director 

Reports to: Head of Community Engagement & Participation 

Period of Appointment: Sept 2026 – July 2027

Salary: This role is rewarded by an honorarium fee of £1000.00 at the end of the production period. Members of the Artistic Team also receive a free TTP membership for the 26-27 season.

Purpose of Role: We are looking for a Director for Tyne Theatre Productions (TTP) amateur production of Annie which will be performed at the Tyne Theatre & Opera House (TTOH) during the week of 14 February 2027. This production of Annie will include cast members from Tyne Youth Company.

Role Requirements:

  • A passion for theatre
  • Plenty of ideas, and a plan for putting them onto the stage
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • A consistently professional attitude

Tyne Theatre Productions – Choreographer

Job Title: Tyne Theatre Productions – Choreographer

Reports to: Head of Community Engagement & Participation 

Period of Appointment: Sept 2026 – July 2027

Salary: This role is rewarded by an honorarium fee of £1000.00 at the end of the production period. Members of the Artistic Team also receive a free TTP membership for the 26-27 season.

Purpose of Role: We are looking for a Director for Tyne Theatre Productions (TTP) amateur production of Annie which will be performed at the Tyne Theatre & Opera House (TTOH) during the week of 14 February 2027. This production of Annie will include cast members from Tyne Youth Company.

Job Title: Tyne Theatre Productions – Musical Director

Reports to: Head of Community Engagement & Participation

  • A passion for musical theatre
  • Strong vocal or keyboard skills with the ability to sight read/sing
  • Some experience in teaching and rehearsing
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • A consistently professional attitude

Pencilled Dates

Monday 6 July: TTP Introduction Evening 6-9pm
Saturday 18 July: TTP Auditions – 10am – 4pm
Rehearsals from Wednesday 2 September
Sunday 14 February: Get In/Tech
Monday 15 February: Tech/Run – 6-9pm
Tuesday 16 February: Full Dress Rehearsal – 6-9pm
Wednesday 17 February to Saturday 20 February – Performances (incl matinees on Thursday 18, and Saturday 20 Feb)

Closing date for applications is Wednesday 17 June 2026.

Interviews will take place w/c 22 June. Please submit your theatre CV with links to any recorded footage, and an accompanying letter explaining how your professional and life experiences align with the requirements and responsibilities of the role.
